About ECSL
East Coast School of Languages offers students exceptional English language instruction and a complete Canadian cultural experience, both of which are enhanced by our school's small class sizes, individually focused attention, and a warm, nurturing, and friendly environment.
Our school is located in the heart of Halifax, a safe, friendly city that combines historic charm with modern facilities. Whatever your interests, you can enjoy them in this small but exciting port city.
Our facility is warm and welcoming and our instructors are experienced and qualified. All our classrooms are bright and spacious and overlook the Halifax Harbour. These rooms comfortably accommodate our small class sizes. At break times students can relax in our inviting student lounge or check their emails in our high-speed computer lab or with their wireless laptops. Our strict English-Only Policy means that students must speak English at all times.
ECSL offers 5 levels of study. Our Program choices allow students to concentrate on their specific area of interest. Students receive 32 hours of in-class instruction and social activities each week guided by our experienced, dedicated and caring instructors. Monthly evaluations monitor progress and Certificates of Completion are given at our monthly Graduation Ceremony.

East Coast Language Camp
Our new Residential Campus is located at Annapolis Basin Conference Centre, a quick 2-hour drive from Halifax. Our East Coast Language Camp is offered in July and August and our customized business courses like the East Coast Executive Experience are offered year round.
What makes ECSL so special?
Our Personal Coordinator Program gives every student the chance to speak monthly with an ECSL staff member. This ensures that every ESCL student is 100% satisfied during his or her time at the school.
Our homestay families are carefully chosen by our Director of Student Services. All families provide a private bedroom, a quiet place to study and three nutritious meals per day. Our families live in safe residential neighborhoods close to bus routes. All students receive a Letter of Welcome from their families before arrival.
